The Environment Is Becoming A Top Priority For The Print Industry

Environmentally Friendly Printing MaterialsAt Ronset Printers we have been making huge strides in becoming a more environmentally friendly printing operation over the last few years. This has included investing in the latest range of eco-friendly printers, using more sustainable and non toxic ink products and recycling as much of our waste as possible.

Producing Planet Friendly Products

And it is good to see that the printing industry as a whole is aware of the need to produce planet friendly products. Hewlett Packard for instance have seen how consumers of their products are looking for more sustainable products and this has given them a real motivation to produce these.

In a recent Print Week interview, Phil Oakley, HP large-format regional business manager for UK and Ireland explains:

“Sustainable impact is at the heart of HP’s reinvention, as it fuels innovation, drives growth and strengthens our business for the long-term. We’re committed to developing and delivering an environmentally sustainable product portfolio and improving the sustainability of our own global operations.

“We’re reinventing the way that products are designed, manufactured, used and recovered, as well as shifting our business models and operations to a more efficient, circular and low-carbon economy.

“More broadly across our business, our vision for HP’s sustainable impact is to create lasting, positive change for the planet, our people and communities. We’ve set bold, measurable goals including zero deforestation associated with HP brand paper and paper-based product packaging by 2020, contributing 1.5 million cumulative employee volunteer hours by 2025, and doubling factory participation in sustainability programmes by 2025.”

Ronset Use Green Guard Inks

There are many other companies within the printing industry stepping up to the plate and producing more sustainable, environmentally friendly products so more power to them. Meanwhile if you work in a school, a nursery, a medical centre or hospital, or anywhere that needs to be kept free from any potentially harmful toxins, and you require printed materials, we can use environmentally safe inks called Green Guard Inks, so we can produce printed items which are safe from any nasty toxins.
